The project involved the design and construction of a solar-powered water supply system in accordance with the defined scope of work. The works included the construction of four borehole pump houses, each approximately 15 square meters in size, as well as four guard houses each measuring approximately 26 square meters, and four six-stance ecosan latrines each approximately 10 square meters. The project also entailed the erection of three 60 cubic meter galvanized pressed steel reservoir tanks, each mounted on 12-meter-high steel tank stands supported by reinforced concrete bases. The transmission and distribution network extended approximately 8.7 kilometers and was installed using PN16 HDPE pipes of varying diameters (63mm, 50mm, 40mm, 32mm, and 25mm), along with 75mm Grade A galvanized iron pipes complete with flanged connections and fittings for each system. Power supply to the systems was achieved through the installation of solar arrays rated at 21,120Wp using 550W panels mounted on dedicated support structures. Ancillary works included the installation of approximately 360 meters of chain-link fencing around each pump station, as well as landscaping around the pump and guard house areas incorporating grassing, road kerbs, and walkways in loose aggregates. The project further included the installation of Grundfos submersible solar pumps with accessories rated at 12 cubic meters per hour. To facilitate access to safe water for the communities, each system was equipped with eighteen double-faucet public stand posts and eighteen yard taps for water collection.
